Flying Blue Dog Farm & Nursery We are excited about our new supplier, Flying Blue Dog Nursery – a small woman-owned and operated Farm & Nursery in Willow Creek. They offer us “naturally grown” veggie starts, culinary, tea & medicinal herbs, and unusual ornamental plants, many of them forgotten heirloom varieties, endangered or rare. All are “naturally grown” with organic potting soils, fertilizers and sprays. Check out their website. UC Davis Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night thinking about that bug you saw in your garden?  Now, even when the nursery is closed, you can find the answers to many of your pest-related questions at the UC Davis IPM website. What is IPM?  Integrated pest management, or IPM, is a pest control strategy that uses an array of complementary methods:  natural predators and parasites, pest-resistant plant varieties, cultural practices, biological controls, various physical techniques, and the strategic use of pesticides.  It is an ecological approach that can significantly reduce or eliminate the use of pesticides.
